Hawaiian Tug & Barge, Young Brothers (HTBYB), is a tug & barge company based in Oahu servicing the surrounding islands of Hawaii. As seen in many marine towing companies, they were tracking all their jobs and related details on spreadsheets. Because of these spreadsheets, communication was poor and information hard to access.
Dispatchers now store all job-related information within Helm. When customers call, they can answer questions immediately and know if they have the resources available to schedule the requested job. Some of their dispatchers have worked there for 30+ years, and it was challenging to switch to a new way of doing things. Now the dispatchers have really come to appreciate Helm, and would never go back.
Invoicing for harbor tug services was also a manual process driven from tug logs. Now, invoicing is automatically created from orders stored within Helm, saving a full day's worth of billing activities.
