Edoc Systems Group Gets Times Colonist Profile

A Victoria software company credited with bringing order to B.C.'s busy tug and towboat fleet is turning its attention to the lucrative U.S. market.
EDOC Systems Group has developed an interface that allows tug companies to dispatch boats and crews, track the movement of goods and provide financial invoices and many other features -- eliminating paper trails and saving time, money and errors in what is often a chaotic industry.
After years of measured growth, mostly with forest companies on the B.C. coast, the company expects to increase revenues to $2 million this year and hit at least $3 million by the end of 2010 with an emphasis on U.S. expansion.
EDOC chief executive Ron deBruyne and four of the company's sales and development staff are in New Orleans this week to shore up existing contracts and strike new deals with operators on the Mississippi River and its tributaries.
